Dr. Fernando Naiditch holds a PhD in Multilingual Multicultural Studies from New York University. He has been teaching for over thirty years and has taught not only in his native Brazil and South America, but also in Europe, the Middle East and the United States. He holds a B.A. in Linguistics, a Diploma (DOTE, Dip. TESL) in Second Language Teaching from Cambridge University, England, and an M.A. in Second Language Acquisition from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil. He is also a certified public-school teacher in New York State. Dr. Naiditch has specialized and published in the fields of TESOL, Multicultural and Bilingual Education and Critical Pedagogy. As a teacher educator, he has worked in different parts of the world and has conducted research in different educational settings under various political, social, and economic contexts. His research focuses on second language and literacy acquisition and development, immigrant and refugee education, culturally and linguistically responsive curricula, and the use of critical pedagogy as a tool to achieve equity and social justice in education. Dr. Fernando Naiditch is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning in the College for Education and Engaged Learning at Montclair State University in New Jersey. He provides Professional Development for a number of School Districts in understanding and addressing the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students as well as in implementing Sheltered Instruction for English language learners and in developing Culturally Responsive Curricula.
