Biography

Kim Winslow, Ed.S., began her career as an educator in 2001 as a PreK/K teacher assistant in a bilingual classroom. Over the span of 20 years she taught Bilingual Special Education, English as a Second Language and Spanish while concurrently holding adjunct teaching positions for adult learners at Wake Tech, Durham Tech, Guilford Tech, and UNC Chapel Hill. She is a frequent conference speaker and advocate at the local, state, and national levels and sits on a number of executive boards for professional and nonprofit organizations. Kim graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BA in Spanish and earned a M.A.Ed. from George Washington University. She is concurrently enrolled in a Post-Masters Certificate program in School Administration at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and the EdD Educational Leadership program at Liberty University. Kim served as the lead family engagement specialist in a rural school district before taking on her current role as assistant principal at a dual language Spanish immersion elementary school in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.
