Biography

Danya Martinez grew up and is a proud product of Aldine ISD in Houston, TX. She knew Education was her passion long before her first-hand experiences. She has worked with emergent bilingual students for over 10 years. Her years in a bilingual setting have all been in Aldine with experience in grade levels ranging from 2nd-6th grade. She has also served as an elementary Bilingual Instructional Specialist and currently a District Multilingual Coach. She obtained her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Sam Houston State University and has had the privilege to coach teachers and instructional specialists on the implementation of research-based strategies and best practices to ensure emergent bilingual students have access to a quality educational experience. As a bilingual educator and advocate for emergent bilingual students, she believes that every child has the ability to learn and grow in their uniqueness as well as creating an equitable environment to develop each learner's cognitive and linguistic skills.
