Description
Embrace the shift from family engagement to family empowerment and learn about tools developed at the state agency to support that shift, especially in dual language immersion programs. We will discuss the difference between family engagement and empowerment and collaboratively look at ways to improve common practices to strengthen multilingual linguistic and academic strategies. We will explore opportunities to empower families by sharing the benefits of bilingualism and supporting their leadership skills as they develop campus-wide events. We will use a rubric designed to evaluate levels of implementation and determine next steps to take back to our teams.
