Description
Language is power—and recognizing how multilingual students use their full linguistic repertoires is essential to equitable teaching. This session introduces the Translanguaging Observation Journal, a reflective tool, designed by the presenter, Dr. Bolster, to help preservice teachers and educators notice, document, and respond to students’ dynamic language practices. Participants will explore real classroom examples, engage with the journal, and learn strategies to shift from deficit-based views to asset-based instruction. Grounded in research and classroom practice, this session empowers educators to make Translanguaging visible and use those insights to create more inclusive, culturally sustaining learning environments.
