Izela Jacobo draws from her life story in the work she does for language learners. This is her 26th year as an actively involved educator. Izela is a former Principal and English Learner/Bilingual Program Administrator. As a founder of an extremely successful trilingual school, she understands the power behind designing innovative, high quality learning environments that provide equity, access to all students, and celebrate diversity. In her role with the San Diego County Office of Education, as the Senior Director to the Multilingual Education and Global Achievement Department, and as a lecturer and student supervisor for the Dual Language Education Teacher Program for San Diego State University, Izela continues to be a champion for multilingualism.
