Biography

Sara Kennedy's professional experience includes teaching K-8 Spanish in Detroit and San Diego, supporting students and families as EL Coordinator in a Project Based Learning setting, and a year in Spain through a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship. She has supported and advocated for students, families, and teachers as a new teacher mentor, on school advisory committees and instructional leadership teams, as an induction coach, supporting the development of new ELAC committees, participation in the CARPE College Access network, and as a union organizer and officer. She has a B.A. in Spanish and English education and a M.A. in TESOL, both from Eastern Michigan University. She is now supporting multilingual education statewide at the California Association for Bilingual Education.
