. Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the way teachers support bilingual learners in both language development and academic success. This session offers an introduction to practical ways educators can incorporate AI tools to improve instruction, streamline planning, and foster equitable learning experiences for bilingual students. Attendees will explore how AI supports lesson development, formative and summative assessments, real-time translation, and culturally responsive communication with families. In addition, the session will highlight how AI-powered tools can help teachers scaffold instruction, differentiate tasks, and create individualized learning pathways based on students’ language proficiency and academic needs. The presenter will demonstrate how AI can be used to generate customized materials, including visual supports, rubrics, guided practice activities, and writing scaffolds that directly support bilingual learners. Examples will include how to adapt AI outputs to align with pedagogical goals while maintaining cultural and linguistic relevance. The session will also address the benefits and limitations of using AI in the classroom, including concerns related to accuracy, bias, privacy, and the importance of teacher oversight. Finally, the presenter will share examples from teachers who are using AI as a helpful assistant in their daily work, ranging from planning and instruction to communication and student feedback. This session aims to inspire teachers to commit to serving bilingual learners effectively.
