The integration of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) with typical pre-K units such as ‘Our Community’ are one way that pre-K teachers can differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all young learners, especially DLLs. This type of integration does not require a new curriculum or materials, rather a simple shift of how the teacher conceptualizes the planning and delivery and assessment of instruction which will be illuminated in this session. Particular attention will be given to what is meant by the ‘T’ for Technology in STEAM. Participants will engage in an interactive lecture followed by a discussion/question/answer period.
