Center for Equity for English Learners
Linda Kaminski, Ed.D. is the Director of Research and Policy for the Center for Equity for English Learners (CEEL) and Affiliated Faculty in the School of Education at Loyola Marymount University. Her research addresses equity-based leadership for English Learners/Multilingual Learners and the impact of programs and policies in curriculum, instruction, and accountability on culturally and linguistically diverse students and their teachers and administrators. Dr. Kaminski contributes to CEEL’s publications as an author and co-author of journal articles and policy briefs. Dr. Kaminski teaches Transformational Leadership for Educational Achievement in the Doctoral Program for Social Justice in the School of Education at Loyola Marymount University. Dr. Kaminski began her career in education as a bilingual teacher and served as a principal, coordinator, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. In 2017 the Los Angeles County Office of Education selected Dr. Kaminski as its inaugural Superintendent of the Year. She has contributed to statewide policy through service on multiple state committees, including the California Practitioners Advisory Group. Dr. Kaminski earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in Administration, Policy and Social Planning, Urban Superintendents Program at Harvard University.
